HAMISH FULTON PRESENTS BRINGING TIBET HOME
Talk and screening with CAST Café supper
Hamish Fulton will give a short talk and introduction to the film Bringing Tibet Home, a documentary about Tibetan contemporary artist Tenzing Rigdol. In 2011, inspired by his inability to fulfil his dying father's final wish to once again visit his homeland, Rigdol risked incarceration to smuggle 20,000 kg of Tibetan soil from Tibet through the Himalayas to Dharamshala in India. With this soil he created an unprecedented interactive installation, Our Land, Our People, to literally bring Tibet closer to its people. This event is part of the Remember Nature programme of art action involving artists and arts organisations across the country observing Gustav Metzger’s call to stand up for nature.
Talk and screening with CAST Café supper from 6pm,
