Artist Talk - Anne Jackson
Exhibiting artist Anne Jackson in conversation with writer/critic Katy Macleod.
Anne Jackson was born in New York, and lived in Chicago, Scotland & London, before moving to Devon. She did a degree in Medieval History at St Andrews and then went to Middlesex University for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Constructed Textiles. She has exhibited widely across Europe, and in Australia and the US, as well as the UK. Her work is held in public and private collections in Denmark, the UK and US. She is a published author on tapestry and textiles and is a member of the European Tapestry Forum and the American Tapestry Alliance. Anne’s exhibition The Witchcraft Series is currently on display at THG.
Katy Macleod studied Art, then Art History and English at Leeds University and the Arts in Education at Brighton and Exeter Universities. She has worked in Further and Higher Education, latterly as Reader in Fine Art in the School of Art at Kingston University, London, (2011-2019) working with practice based doctoral students. Katy’s own research in this area has been published quite widely. Katy has worked in Art Schools for four decades; she has written Art reviews; curated exhibitions and participated in them.
