British artist and printmaker, Ben Goodman, is best known for his use of traditional wood engraving to create intricate and powerful portraits. Blending oil-painting and printmaking techniques, he uses engraving to build up multi-layered prints which resemble miniature paintings. The result is a unique style and approach, which creates subtle, textured and intimate contemporary prints.

For the first time, The Ink That Glows brings together all of Goodman’s portrait-engravings. This exhibition will be a rare opportunity to see his key works in one place and will also feature his most recent ‘glazed’ prints. These have been created in partnership with UWE Bristol, where he has developed a unique glazing technique that uses a combination of oil, resin and transparent pigments to create a subtle luminescence and glow.
