THE ALTERED FESTIVAL
When art meets activism ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
25th March - 3rd April at Keep Art It (www.keepartit.org),
Galleries Shopping Centre, Bristol, BS1 3XD
(Launch party: Friday 25th March, 6pm - 9pm)
Events 10-5pm 26th March - 3rd April 2022
Our intention is to shine a light on the solutions available to people at this challenging time in Bristol and the world.
We have a range of wonderful artists who will be exhibiting (in varied mediums), performing, holding talks and workshops over the course of the 10 days.
The artwork will be varied — from dance, music, painting, music making to ancient craft making.
The festival will feature an ‘Artivist’ in a box (created by @hue_artivist) where featured artists will perform or create art for extended periods of time within these four walls. The public will be able to look inside the box — although the artist will not be able see outside or anyone viewing. The box will feature artist performance and ritual. The nature of this work is part experiment/ and a visual representation of what many artists experience. We seek to explore this relationship with artist and observer during the festival and will be documenting this as part of a wider piece of work.
Our artivism will include working with Bristol Energy Network and Bristol Health Partners to create meaningful workshops to give people applicable skills to take on some of the biggest issues of our time.
Come join, participate, listen, learn, have fun! It's a donation based event.
Keep Art It is an events and media company founded in lockdown 2020 whose mission is to
