This painting features a surreal black horse bound in green string, standing on a red-and-white checkered floor. The horse’s body is elongated and distorted, with delicate, swirling tendrils sprouting from its head and tail.

Artist Darcy Whent presents Tell Tales, a new body of work exploring memory, storytelling, and the blurred lines between truth and fiction. Through painting, Drawing and installation, Whent reflects on the way childhood memories evolve over time, questioning how we construct and reshape personal narratives. Drawing from themes of autofiction, motherhood, and emotional conflict, Tell Tales examines the tension between reality and fabrication—how we are encouraged to tell the truth yet often reprimanded for being ‘tell-tales.’ Whent’s work invites viewers to reflect on their own recollections, challenging the reliability of memory and the ways we navigate personal history. Join us at Centrespace Gallery for an immersive and thought-provoking exhibition that explores the stories we tell ourselves and others. :small_blue_diamond: Free entry :small_blue_diamond: Opening night: May 2nd, 6–9 PM For more details, visit darcywhent.co.uk or follow @darcywhent on Instagram.
