Performance
Tattoo by The Outsiders Project
Re-launch of our sell out 2021 show ‘Tattoo’ including some old favourites and brand new unheard stories.
We are the originals. The outsiders. We scar our bodies to never forget.
Every tattoo has a story and these have never been heard before.
With stories from prison, the depths of addiction and recovery rooms – we tell the stories buried under ink and time. They’re raw, exquisite, fearless, and uncensored. Every word is written and performed by our outstanding outsider artists.
The Outsiders performances at the Kneehigh Asylum were the best things I’ve seen and heard for a decade. It has changed the way I think about the stories we tell. And that goes for every single person in the audience. –Anna-Maria Murphy, Kneehigh Theatre
This project is supported by Arts Council England, The National Lottery, PHT, The Alpine Fellowship, Sovereign Centre, BEAF, Talbot Village Trust and Recreate Dorset.
Please note this is a 16+ event. Content warning: Tattoo contains strong language and references drugs, violence and abuse.
This performance is an alcohol-free space. We won’t be offering drinks and please do not bring your own drinks in to respect the performers. The Outsiders Project vision is to show that people side-lined from society can write, perform and create work at the highest level in a safe space and supportive environment. Our theatre in B.A.D. is part of our Safe Homes Network.
