SPARED_CHANGE
SPARED_CHANGE explores the sense of community within Bristol, whether you have a traditional home or not.
Shining a spotlight on three different Bristol neighbourhoods, SPARED_CHANGE explores the sense of community within them, whether you have a traditional home or not. Three sleeping bags are used as bases for large textile banners, richly embroidered with emblems of each of the areas they each represent.
Referencing anti-homeless architecture, the space itself is at once welcoming and hostile. As privately owned houses lay empty, and more and more people find themselves unhoused, this exhibition urges you to be compassionate and work toward a more equitable future.
The exhibition is curated by Molly Claridge. Photographs by Matthew Gordon.
