The Primrose Path is a fast paced crime drama revolving around an off the road playboy Bruce Armstrong (Wallace MacDonald) whose drinking and gambling pushes him into a criminal world of smuggling.

Directed by Harry O. Hoyt (The Lost World) and beautifully shot by André Barlatier (Lady of the Night), Primrose Path foreshadows the later successful crime and noir films of the 1930s and 1940s including The Public Enemy (1931), Scarface (1932) and White Heat (1949).

Starring: Wallace MacDonald, Clara Bow, Arline Pretty

A brand new restoration involving UCLA Film and Television Archive, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Lobster Films, Paris. Special thanks to San Francisco Silent Film Festival.

Presented in collaboration with South West Silents. With live music by Dominic Irving.
