Paper Pop-up Workshop with Elod Beregszaszi

Join us for a pop-up paper workshop introducing paper engineering techniques to design, cut, and fold a cityscape paper sculpture.

Two slots available: 10am-1pm, or 2-5pm

The workshop will provide an insight into the basics of Origamic Architecture (OA) using simple geometric principles to design a popup structure from a single sheet of card with a combination of cuts and folds.

Using a set of pre-cut stencils you will draw your template and arrange your architectural façade features before cutting and then finally folding your final cityscape design.

At the end of the workshop you will also receive a digital learning resource for further exploration of OA techniques and to develop your design skills.

Elod Beregszaszi is exhibiting in our paper exhibition, PULP, which runs from 20 January-13 April 2024.

Some previous experience of working with paper or in paper craft would be helpful for this workshop.

All materials for the workshop will be provided.

On the day:

On arrival please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided for all workshop attendees.

Our Café is opening in January 2024 should you wish to purchase other refreshments during the workshop.

Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces.
