Myrtle Glanville
I’m the king of the castle, and you’re the dirty rascal
A celebration and discovery of the weird and wonderful rituals and traditions that occur in England’s rural villages and towns.
Myrtle was born in Portsmouth and moved to Devon when she was seven. She attended Dolton and then Torrington School before sixth form in Exeter followed by an Art Foundation. After a year working and traveling, she studied Fine Art - Painting at Camberwell College of Arts in London. The large mixed media piece, ‘You’re the King of the Castle’, was part of her final show.
Her work is playful and humorous, and uses local games & traditions as a starting point for her images and embroidery.
