Inspired by the themes of our current exhibition, Group Show, and facilitated by artist Isis Selmikaitis, these paintings represent ways in which communities come together. Themes explored during these off-site activities included; family and kinship, friendship and painting a picture of the people we love and care for. The rolls have been suspended in Aspex’s Learning Space to symbolise the uncontained nature of community building, a scroll that keeps unrolling and enables others to join in.

“My experience as an artist facilitator for the Let’s Paint Project has been incredible. Uniting diverse ages, beliefs, nationalities, genders, and backgrounds through painting. I am very happy with the result of this project as it gave voice, bringing people together which is reverberating on the gallery’s Learning Wall”

– Isis Selmikaitis

Let’s Paint Together celebrates us coming together as a community having fun and getting creative with one another.
