The School of Art and Wellbeing is set in stunning Devon countryside, where you can immerse yourself in the pursuit of understanding of what makes a good landscape painting.
Mary Ann Mackenzie will drive your own interests further, whether you are a beginner or one with experience she will bring a new vigour and energy to “see” the world around you – pushing the boundaries while also holding onto some of the rules of composition, atmospheric distance and tonal change. Using layering and texture to help build a new exciting visual language that expresses the countryside in all is changing colours.

Under the careful tuition of Mary Ann Mackenzie come and be helped to explore landscape painting with a more open approach and allow the flow of eye and hand connection to be so ‘busy’ that the critical voice is silenced.

Held at a the School of Art & Wellbeing’s studio which is nestled in a little corner of exquisite Devon countryside with a view all the way to Dartmoor and only one mile from the market town of Honiton with a direct train line to London Waterloo, the art school is set in 15 acres of wild flower meadows, formal gardens, orchard, beech walk, vegetable plot and a secret Forest Garden to wander in.
