Introduction to Reduction Linocut with Robin Mackenzie

This one-day work­shop is per­fect for begin­ners look­ing to learn a new tech­nique or for those wish­ing to expand their knowl­edge of linocut printing.

You will be taught the principles of designing for print, how to separate your design into two colours, methods for cutting lino, and how to print a two colour reduction print.

This course is open to all abilities and no previous experience of printmaking is necessary.

All equipment and materials will be provided.

Participants must be aged 18 years + to attend this course.

About Robin:

Robin is an illustrator and printmaker specialising in the crafts of linocut and wood engraving. He graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2013 and has since gone on to create prints for The National Trust, The BBC, Ardbeg Whiskey, SAGA cruises and many others. He regularly exhibits his work around the UK and is an elected member of The Society of Wood Engravers. He created all the wood blocks for the film about Eric Ravilious, ‘Drawn to War’.

Robin works from his studio in Dorset using a traditional cast iron Albion Press to produce his prints and through his personal work he explores the British coast and landscape. Robin runs printmaking courses throughout the year from his studio and around the country.

On the day:

Tickets include tuition and all necessary tools and materials for the 1 day workshop duration. It does not include lunch or accommodation.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided for all workshop attendees.

Our Café is now open should you wish to purchase refreshments throughout the workshop. All participants receive at 10% discount for food and drink or items from our shop purchased on the day of the workshop.

On arrival please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.

Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces
