Workshops & Courses
Introduction to Leatherwork with Jane Watts
Learn how to mark, cut, stitch and burnish leather, and make your own leather pin cushion, coin purse and card pouch or passport holder.
Using ready made templates you will learn how to mark, cut, stitch and burnish leather. As the day processes you will gain an understanding of how to use basic tools required, and will have the opportunity to make up to three items: a pin cushion, coin purse, card pouch or passport/notebook holder. You will be able to continue leather projects at home. Additional leather will be available to purchase. All tools, stamps and fastenings will be provided. Please note you will be using razor sharp knives.
On the Day
All tools and materials will be provided. Please bring an apron and wear old clothes.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Lunch is not included in the ticket fee so please bring a packed lunch.
On arrival please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.
