In the Mind’s Eye
Robin Sewell, Jenny Morse, Susanna Lisle, and Catherine Richardson ‘In the Mind’s Eye’ a group exhibition of four abstract painters.
As starting points for making drawings and paintings, these four artists absorb
different aspects of their perceived world or reference experiences or notions handed onto them from other fields of research, which they digest and condense into imagery from their specific vantage point. This process is often talked about as a distillation, a ‘gut feeling’, a poetic response or the working of one’s subconscious where a focus on any given subject becomes synthesised and reformed into highly poignant visual metaphors.
