GHT Lates: Dan O’Farrell and The Difference Engine, Tim Holehouse & J Fashole-Luke
Join us for an evening of local talent, art, heritage and street food after hours at God’s House Tower.
Join us at the first GHT Lates of 2026!
Part of a series of late-night events at God’s House Tower, GHT Lates is an opportunity to explore the building by night while enjoying live performances from some of the South’s best musicians.
Musicians Performing
Dan O’Farrell and The Difference Engine– Formed in 2017 to give Dan O’Farrell’s songs of poetry, politics, Shakespeare and, erm, traffic-lights some extra light and shade, The Difference Engine have grown from the core trio of Dan (guitar and vocals), Rick Foot (double-bass) and Chris Walsh (drums) to include Rufus Grig on keyboards and – occasionally – TV personality Matt Allright on pedal-steel.
Described by NME’s Amrik Rai as ‘erudite, morose and challenging’, the band pride themselves on having something to say and increasingly varied ways of saying it, but lyrically and musically. Often working hard to avoid categorisation they will, if pushed, grudgingly except that they are ‘sort of alt-folky, with an indie-rock edge and a soupcon of country…’
Tim Holehouse – Tim’s own sound is hugely varied too, often able to adapt to performing sets depending on the atmosphere of a show. He has been known to release folk, blues, experimental music and much more besides, often on a single tour. Tim’s songs come from a place of honesty and a keen ear for anything creative regardless of genre. His own philosophy is that, ‘if music is good, it’s just good, right?’
J Fashole-Luke – J Fashole-Luke is a multi instrumentalist who is in high demand particularly for live piano performances. He has performed all over Europe at Jazz Festivals (including Montreaux, Vienne, North Sea, Swanage and Vienna Jazz Festivals and in UK at Glastonbury, Bestival, Boomtown, Shambala, Hyde Park and Isle Of Wight Festivals), as well as many other public performances and private engagements.
JFL’s original music draws from a wide range of influence across many genres and this show provides a heady blend of striking melodies, unusual time signatures, imaginative harmonies and driving rhythms. His accompanists Lewis Treasure (bass) and Ted Carrasco (drums) are highly accomplished intuitive and virtuosic musicians who really bring his ideas to life in full colour.
