A series of bespoke workshops led by Gillian Taylor, PR and marketing consultant, cover writing, produce images, create your website and video.
[Workshop 1]
Raising your profile – writing about your work and creating images
A workshop for artists who want to feel more confident about raising their profile and publicising their work. The event is for a small group and will include practical exercises with feedback, and an opportunity to ask questions. We’ll look at how to write about your work for websites, social media or a press release, and how to produce good images of your work.
IT skill requirement: Basic

Create a website
A practical workshop to help you create a simple website. Using WordPress, we’ll take you through the steps to create your own artist’s website. The workshop will cover design themes, free and paid-for options, and website content. There will be an opportunity to take the first steps to create your own website and to ask questions.
IT skills requirement: You will need good proficiency in using a computer and you will need a laptop, PC or MAC installed with the latest version of Google Chrome or Safari.

Creating digital content
This workshop will help you to create engaging content about your work. We’ll cover creating audio, making simple videos and putting together an online portfolio. During the workshop, you’ll be able to experiment with some of the techniques and get feedback.
IT skills requirement: You will need good proficiency in using a computer and mobile phone. We’ll focus on using a mobile phone for content creation, but those using tablets and cameras are also welcome.
