Set in Cromarty Firth — often described as Scotland’s ‘oil rig graveyard’ — Giants’ Anatomy imagines speculative afterlives for decommissioned North Sea oil platforms. Combining real-world footage with computer-generated imagery, the film explores the uncertain futures of industrial infrastructure once its function has ended. Moving between the plausible and the surreal, Li’s work questions whether obsolete structures can still hold meaning.
