Friday Late: Traces of Light
Late night-social exploring how new worlds can be co-created through art, movement , community and performance.
Friday Late: Traces of Light takes inspiration from our current exhibition, Ebun Sodipo’s Traces of the Non-Existent, to celebrate the power of trans and migrant communities and imagine new worlds.
Curated by g0dsf4ve and NKIRUKA, through music, movement and performance, this late-night event explores how nightlife, so often shaped by trans and displaced people, becomes a space to challenge borders, binaries and the limits imposed. From sound system culture to ballroom, these communities have transformed nightlife, even as their contributions are unacknowledged or erased.
Join us for this unmissable evening, as we co-create futures where freedom, fluidity and joy hold space.
On the evening you can enjoy:
- DJ sets from Harietta and DJ Mace
- Visual poetry piece by Chloe Fulani
- Solo performance by Yuna
- Solo performance by Elisa and a ballroom performance with a set by godsfave
- Wiki-edit-a-thon with Women In Art
- Sign petitions & write letters to your MP’s in solidarity with trans communities
- Unlimited access to our exhibitions – Traces of the Non-Existent, Come as you are, and Ripples Many Streams
