Join EP/64 mainstay Dan Johnson as he hosts the debut of the exciting new percussion workshop series, ‘Ecstatic Drum Beats’.
EDB combines elements of traditional ritual & trance drumming practices with modern approaches to movement, composition & improvisation.

No prior experience or rhythmic knowledge is necessary.

A staple of Bristol's experimental music community and an expressionist solo drummer, Dan is known for his unique energy and rhythmical approach regardless of the musical context. In addition to teaching Drums, Dan works as a freelance educator across a range of disciplines including: Improvisation, Deep Listening, Creative Development, Composition & Performance. He is co-author and co-facilitator of the ‘Musical Responses & Collaborative Experiments’ Module at BIMM Bristol and has delivered papers & led workshops on the subject at Higher Education conferences throughout the UK.
Dan's past & present musical collaborators include: EP/64, Run Logan Run, Tina Hitchens, Ossia and Yama Warashi.
