Alice Mahoney’s solo exhibition at Auction House presents new sculptural work developed through her recent project Water Bodies, supported by Arts Council England and Camborne Town Council.
Working with clay and waste materials collected from post-industrial sites around Camborne and Redruth, Mahoney creates sculptural forms that carry traces of these altered landscapes. Bringing together ceramics, water and experimental processes, the exhibition explores relationships between material, place, extraction, embodied experience and regenerative practices through a semi-chaotic and active sculptural installation.
Alice Mahoney is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, sound, film and installation. Through material experimentation and site-responsive processes, she creates multi-sensory sculptural installations that bring together found materials, ceramics, light, film, sound and sometimes scent and moving elements. These works often operate as interconnected systems, where different elements move or respond to one another.
