Discover one of the most important figures in 20th century British art in this major new exhibition at the Museum of Somerset.

A curator, critic, painter and designer, Roger Fry (1866–1934) played a pivotal role in transforming art in Britain. As a member of the influential Bloomsbury Group, he helped shape a new approach to art and culture, and is perhaps best known for introducing Post-Impressionist art to Britain.

‘A Life in Art: Roger Fry’ brings together more than 40 vibrant artworks, rare loans and previously unseen pieces from private collections. The exhibition also highlights the work of Helen Coombe (1864–1937), Fry’s wife and accomplished artist whose work is rarely displayed publicly.

The exhibition has been produced in partnership with Charleston, Sussex and is supported by The Court Gallery, West Somerset.

The Museum of Somerset is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10.00 am – 5.00 pm.
