Open Call: Writer-in-Residence, Traces of the Non-Existent

Aspex Portsmouth is partnering with Photoworks to offer an exciting opportunity for a writer to be in residence and be part of their current exhibition’s programme: Traces of the Non-Existent by London-based multidisciplinary artist Ebun Sodipo.
Part of the Photoworks Photography Champions programme, this residency will allow the selected writer to engage deeply with the themes, concepts, and artistic practices in Sodipo’s new commission, culminating in the creation of a written essay or text work as well as an in-conversation with the artist.
The selected candidate will receive £500 to:
- Create a piece of writing inspired by Ebun Sodipo’s practice and new commissioned works
- Deliver a public facing event co-developed with, and supported by the Aspex and Photoworks team before the show ends on 13th July
- Receive a mentoring session with a member of the Photoworks team
