This is an opportunity to work in a place where community action is already shaping the landscape. Lawrence Weston has seen major resident-led initiatives in recent years — including neighbourhood plans, a community-owned wind turbine and a thriving community hub — creating a strong context for collaborative, place-based work.

The selected artist will work with residents and local partners to develop a site-responsive public artwork through a process of research, engagement and design.

Artists will work with residents and local partners to explore themes including:

• Pride in place
• Community-led change
• Everyday routes and shared spaces
• Local history and identity
• Environmental care and stewardship

We welcome applications from artists with experience of public art, socially engaged practice or site-responsive work.

Artists should demonstrate an interest in working collaboratively with communities and developing work that responds to place.
