Key responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop and implement Aspex’s marketing and communications strategy in support of our Business Plan.
  • Develop and deliver campaigns that grow audiences, engagement and visitor numbers.
  • Manage press and media relations, design, print and digital communications.
  • Oversee website, social media and other digital resources, ensuring content is accurate, relevant and engaging.
  • Undertake audience and visitor research, including surveys, data collection, monitoring, analysis and reporting.
  • Support data protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Produce quarterly, annual and other internal and external reports.
  • Develop promotional and legacy-building content across Aspex’s programme.
  • Manage the marketing budget and monitor expenditure.
  • Work with the Director and team to support income generation, including corporate fundraising, external partnerships, individual giving and fundraising campaigns.
  • Coordinate the Marketing Working Group, making effective use of specialist Trustee expertise.
  • Build networks and increase awareness of Aspex across art, education, business and wider communities.
  • Manage, train and support Gallery Assistants, volunteers, interns and freelance staff.
  • Take part in the Duty Manager rota during daytime opening and regular special events, including evenings and weekends.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience developing and delivering marketing, communications and social media activity, alongside PR and multi-platform digital campaigns.

You’ll have excellent organisational, administrative, written and verbal communication skills, with a strong understanding of branding, visual identity and design. You’ll be confident using digital marketing tools and website CMS systems, able to manage your own workload and comfortable working to deadlines.

Experience of fundraising/business development and line management is desirable.
