Hweg Gallery – Open Call for group exhibition.
We are pleased to announce Hweg is opening submissions for an upcoming exhibition.
‘Make yourself at home’ will open in the home setting of @the_fayre May 24th-26th,
before being shown at Hweg gallery throughout July.
As a response to the context of these two spaces, which bridge the domestic setting with the experience of artworks, we invite artists to submit work that represents a specific room in a home. We encourage artists to interpret this brief creatively, attaching your own meaning to an identifiable room and consider how the inclusion of your work may expand the common ideas of how we think about these places.
To participate
- Email up to 5 images (2MB max file size) of the work you are submitting to joe@hweg.co.uk with the subject “Open Call Submission”.
- Provide the details of the work: Title, date, material, dimensions.
- Tell us the room you’d like your work to represent, if you’d like to share a few words explaining your choice that is optional.
- Entry fee is £10, we will reply to your submission with payment instructions.
- The deadline for submission is 19th April 2024 and we will be coming back to applicants by the 26th April.
We would like to encourage submissions of artworks of any medium/format/size. However, selected artists will be responsible for the transport of their work to Cornwall, U.K. so please keep this in mind when submitting.
