Call for artists
Little Forest Open Competition 2023
At least 5 artists/makers will be selected to display their work at Art in the Garden 2023. One overall winner will receive £150.
This is the fifth year we are offering this exhibitiing opportunity.
This time we are changing the format of the Competition. Instead of looking for one artwork to go on our ‘4th Plinth’, this time we are looking for a number of artworks to be displayed around the site.
This follows the success of the Woodland Trail at Art in the Garden 2022, with the different artworks and installations along the path and elsewhere. We want to build on this and extend the variety of works on show. So, if you thought your work didn’t fit the previous ’Plinth’ criteria, we hope it matches this new brief. There are many different areas and environments around the site including decaying corrugated pig huts, wood pile wall, and under old oak & yew trees, to name a few.
Prize
At least 5 artists/makers will be selected to display their work at Art in the Garden 2023. One overall winner will receive £150. Plus a People’s Choice prize of £50.
Who can apply?
This is an open call to any artist or maker working in any medium, living in Hampshire or the adjoining counties (Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey, East & West Sussex). Entrants must be 18 years of age or over, including students.
Entrance Fee
Entrance is free.
Judges

We will be holding an Open Day on Sunday 20th November 2022, 10am – 3pm so that you can look around the site, viewing the different areas, to inspire and help you inform your work. You can also view materials from around the site that, if applicable, you can utilise in your work.
