CAS is looking for someone who has a proficient and exciting background in contemporary and community arts. The successful applicants will be organised and responsible whilst being approachable and able to engage others within the arts and with various community groups, ages and abilities.
Working with senior management, the successful candidate would have overall responsibility for activities at CAS Community during the days when they are in the space. They would need to liaise with other staff to coordinate artists, promote courses, order materials and coordinate other requirements.
They would have the skills to run a wide variety of art workshops (approx 3 a week). The workshops need to have a range of skill-level and accessibility, depending on the audience attending each week. The artist will be confident and experienced in supporting young people, particularly those at risk, and coordinate and work with volunteers in the space.
They would also be responsible for making sure the workshop is clean and tidy for the public and other artists to work in. They would ensure that the required equipment and materials are available at all times and that course attendees are registered and fully paid up.
This role also requires the person to develop activities and themes, liaising and connecting with our curator around upcoming exhibitions and events, as well as other staff, stakeholders and town centre event coordinators to maximise CAS exposure and involvement in external events and activities.
