Communal Open Call
Aspex invites artists and collectives to propose ideas as part of the Communal Autumn/Winter 2026 programme.
Aspex Portsmouth is inviting artists, creatives and collectives to submit proposals for its Communal programme as part of the Autumn/Winter 2026 season. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to use the gallery's Communal Space free of charge.
This season's theme, Form, explores ideas of beginning, becoming and connection. It considers what it means to form as an artist or community, to create impressions, and how individual elements come together to make something greater than the sum of their parts.
Aspex is seeking proposals that creatively respond to this theme through community-focused activity. Projects could include workshops, participatory events, collaborative projects, research, discussions or other creative experiences that bring people together. Exhibition proposals are not eligible as part of this open call.
Applications must be submitted via the online Google Form here. Proposals sent by email or through other channels will not be accepted.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 6 September 2026, with selected projects taking place during October and November 2026 as part of Aspex Portsmouth's Autumn/Winter programme.
