Bristol City Council; Creative Engagement Commissions

Bris­tol City Coun­cil have launched three new engage­ment com­mis­sions up the val­ue of £4500, as part of the devel­op­ment of Bristol’s Cul­ture Strategy.

As part of the development of Bristol’s Culture Strategy, Bristol City Council have launched three new engagement commissions. These opportunities are designed to ensure that the voices, experiences and ideas of Bristol’s diverse communities are at the heart of shaping the city’s cultural future.

The three types of commissions are:

Community Conversations: Commissions up to £4,500 for cultural and community organisations and collectives to host inclusive, community-led conversations with underrepresented groups.

Artist Conversations: Commissions up to £4,500 for artists or creative practitioners to engage peers in dialogue about the cultural landscape, challenges and aspirations for Bristol’s creative future.

Everyday Culture Micro Commissions: Commissions up to £500 to support creative expressions of what culture looks like in daily life. Open to individuals and groups who want to share their perspective in imaginative ways.

Applications are now open and close on Monday 12th January 2026 at 5pm.

They are looking for thoughtful and inclusive ideas and projects that reflect the richness of Bristol’s communities and cultural sector. Whether you’re an artist, a creative, a collective, a community group, cultural organisation or someone who is simply passionate about culture in Bristol, they would love to hear from you.
