Arts University Plymouth Charitable Trust secures charity place in TCS London Marathon 2026
Arts University Plymouth Charitable Trust has secured a charity place in the TCS London Marathon 2026, one of the world’s most iconic running events.
The Trust announced today that Dr Robin Kirby, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Arts University Plymouth, will represent the Trust on Sunday 26 April 2026, raising funds in support of the Trust’s mission to widen access to creative education.
Robin said: “I’m honoured to be running the London Marathon on behalf of the Arts University Plymouth Charitable Trust. The work the Trust does to support creative education is close to my heart, and I’m excited to take on the marathon challenge to help raise awareness and funding for such an important cause.”
Sarah Fysh, Chair of the Charitable Trust said: “We’re incredibly proud to have secured a charity place in the TCS London Marathon 2026, and even prouder that Dr Robin Kirby will be representing the Trust. His commitment reflects the values we hold dear—creativity, community, and opportunity. Every step he takes helps us raise vital funds to support arts education in Plymouth and beyond, ensuring that more people can access the life-changing power of the arts. It’s also great that this event is being held in the 20th year of the Charitable Trust – I can’t think of a better way to celebrate!”
Textile and fashion students at Arts University Plymouth also will have the opportunity to design and create the outfit which Robin will wear on the day of the marathon.
Funds raised through Robin’s marathon effort will support outreach work including the
renowned Young Arts Programme, which provides 15 and 25-week creative education
courses for nine to 15 year olds from across Plymouth and beyond at Arts University
Plymouth’s Palace Court campus.
Supporters can follow Robin’s training journey and contribute to the fundraising
campaign via JustGiving and can get more information on the work of the Trust by
