Artist Opportunity – Second Nature
Chapel Arts Studios (CAS) wish to appoint an artist with experience in working with a health and wellbeing focus and ideally with older people.
Chapel Arts Studios (CAS) wish to appoint an artist with experience in working with a health and wellbeing focus and ideally with older people. This is a great opportunity to develop your experience in social prescribing and make a positive impact on older people’s lives.
In early February 2022 we will be launching the first of two blocks of 4 x weekly sessions providing a creative outlet for a small group of older individuals referred through health channels. They may have physical or mental health issues or both and may have the early stages of dementia.
We will be teaming up with a local cultural/environmental organisation (yet to be confirmed) to provide inspiration for the project. The second session in each block of four weekly sessions will involve a trip for the group, led by the artist, to the selected venue, where the group will gather research and inspiration to feed into the artwork created. At the end of two 4 week blocks of sessions with the two separate groups, there will be an opportunity to exhibit the work made in a joint celebration event.
Please apply by sending your cv, 5 images of your artwork, and a short statement, maximum 200 words outlining your experience in delivering art for health and wellbeing and what you might offer in the way of creative content, to info@chapelartsstudios.co.uk
All applicants should have public liability insurance up to £5 million and a current DBS certificate. CAS can help support the applicant in sourcing both if required.
Budget for the role
Artist fee for all 8 sessions @£250 per 2 x hour session (to include £100 for planning and £150 for a 2 hour session) = £2000
Materials for 8 sessions = £650
Planning meeting - £50
Evaluation meeting - £50
Day to prep/install exhibition - £250
Deadline for application is - 9 Dec
Interviews will be held on – w/c 12 Dec
