During this three-day course, you will learn how to design and make a warp and how to dress the loom. Once the looms are prepared you will be guided through creating a series of woven textiles that explore basic weave structure and colour experiments. (There is an option to create a more complex weave if you so wish and this can be discussed prior to starting the workshop).

During the course, Angie will share the way she approaches colour in her design work and encourage participants to experiment confidently with colour. A vast array of yarns in a variety of colours and textures will be at your disposal for the duration including shades from Angie’s signature palettes. At the end of the three days, you will have a length of cloth to take home with you, which can be made into soft furnishings or a wall hanging. Or simply as a sampler of the new techniques you have learned.

You will have time to experiment and work on your weaving techniques, with Angie on hand throughout for guidance and advice.

By the end of the course you will:

Know how to dress a 4 shaft loom.
Know how to design and prepare a warp.
Understand basic weaving principles.
Learn professional finishes for your weaving and suggestions of products to make from the cloth.
Grow in confidence with your use of colour.
