Trees, Rocks And Moor
We’re pleased to announce an exhibition of works by Kerry Johnstone.
Kerry took up painting full time in 2016 following a long career working in the Civil Service, snatching time in between work to paint when she could.
Kerry works in a variety of media; pencil, pastel, watercolour and acrylic and is inspired to paint and interpret the landscape around her, aiming to capture what can be seen honestly, celebrating views that often don’t get much attention such as those along Devon Country lanes. She also loves to explore the open moorland, craggy rocks and gnarled trees of Dartmoor and the Southwest coast where water meets the land.
Naturally there is an abundance of green in Kerry’s work but the incorporation of strong tonal contrasts creates mood and atmosphere highlighting the fragility of this natural world whose future preservation is far from certain.
There will be an artist preview on Saturday 29th April 6 - 8 PM
