The RJ Lloyd Collection
Spanning 300 years and more than 500 items, the exhibition celebrates the diversity within the collection.
Spanning 300 years and more than 500 items, the RJ Lloyd collection celebrates the diversity within the collection, from the humble terracotta brick, drain cover, and cloam oven to the most elaborate royal souvenir platter and elaborate puzzle jugs.
RJ Lloyd began collecting just after World War Two when he moved to Devon and became fascinated by the shapes and decoration of local pots. His fascination for the slipware pottery of England, and especially North Devon, allows us to show many rare early pieces through to work made by renowned craft potters such as Michael Cardew, Sidney Tustin, and Clive Bowen and also RJ Lloyd’s ceramic work.
