The Paradigm of Looking
Circular ArtSpace opens the third members’ exhibition. Exploring the range of members’ art through the lens of points of view and perspectives.
Circular ArtSpace announces the opening of “The Paradigm of Looking”, an approach to the decodification of contemporary art by the longstanding members of Circular ArtSpace.
This exhibition will run from the 8th of January until the 31st of January 2026, with a public reception, with the possibility of meeting the artists, at 12:00 pm UK local time, on the 10th of January at the Yard on 780 Fishponds Road, Bristol BS16 3TT.
“The Paradigm of Looking” examines how perception is shaped through the structural conditions of looking, both as an optical and a conceptual mechanism. Changes in scale, placement, and the viewer’s position can subtly transform how a piece is understood. The exhibition encourages visitors to notice how visual information is built, interpreted, and continually reshaped as they move through the space. Through varied media, including painting, sculpture, and mixed-media installation, each painting explores the act of looking as a subject of inquiry in its own right.
Featured artists: Jenna Arnot, Joanne Callaghan, Rachel Clarke, TG Freeson, Christina Godley, Carys Lacey, Gino Parisi, Kathy Rooney, Chris Shopland.
The exhibition is curated by Elio Ardizzone-Garofalo.
Circular ArtSpace is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing emerging and under-represented artists with meaningful opportunities to exhibit their work. To put our mission into practice, we have designed and created an unconventional, permanent gallery housed inside a restored double-decker bus. Alongside this unique space, we curate virtual exhibitions, participate in art fairs, and continue to expand our project by developing new, accessible platforms that broaden the visibility and reach of the artists we support.
