The Light Through The Leaves Exhibition by Aikin Hurd-Thomas
Exhibition showing the work of Aikin Hurd-Thomas, a large scale cyanotype series of sunlight falling through leaves, made in response to poetry.
The project was made in response to a poem by my written by my father, it's a collection of moments spent in stillness, simply appreciating light and nature. The line from the poem "Do you still smile at the light through the leaves", has become a mantra to me, a phrase I turn to when I feel lost, rooting me back into myself and the beauty which surrounds me. the series is made up of cameraless cyanotype photographs, painted by hand and exposed with sunlight.
