TEÄN ROBERTS & MAYA RONCHETTI

Teän Roberts and Maya Ronchetti explore connections between people, place and the natural world.

Roberts’ photographic work delves into the folk history of kelping in the Isles of Scilly, while Ronchetti’s textile installation reflects on our relationship with nature in an increasingly digital world.

TEÄN ROBERTS Holdfast

Teän Roberts presents Holdfast, an imaginative photographic investigation into the folk-history of kelping in the Isles of Scilly. All that is left of this 150-year-long subsistence practice – of collecting, drying and burning seaweed for glass making – are the stone-lined pits where the kelp was burned.

MAYA RONCHETII Doom Strollers

Doom Strollers was made during an artist residency at East Quay, Somerset in December 2025. This textile work is inspired by the paradoxical way digital media represents nature and promotes environmental connection. The silhouettes of people walking while on their phones are cut from oil paintings of natural landscapes, camouflaged among naturally dyed fabrics, wool, and leather.

Maya Ronchetti is a Bristol-based artist typically making large scale sculptures and installations from found and natural materials, particularly hay, wood and textiles
