Subversive Forms: Revolutionary approaches to clay
This exhibition features artworks by some of the leading sculptors and innovators working with ceramics in the UK today.
Subversive Forms will shine a spotlight on contemporary artists who push the boundaries of possibility with clay. Each selected artist disrupts and manipulates traditional ceramic preconceptions, creating enigmatic artworks that push the medium beyond the functional, and using clay as a non-apologetic material for sculpture.
The exhibition features work by the following artists:
Dan Allen, Felicity Aylieff, Kelly Allsopp, Halima Cassell, Matthew Chambers, Claire Curneen, Richard Deacon, Laura Ford, Keith Harrison, Mimi Joung, Jonathan Keep, Nicholas Lees, Claire Loder, Sam Lucas, Peter Randall Page, Sarah Purvey, Matt Smith, Jo Taylor, Annie Turner, Patricia Volk, and Maria Wodjat.
You can find out more about the some of the artists featured in this exhibition, at our special ceramics symposium, being held at Chippenham’s Town Hall in February.
