Artist-wanderer Karen Howse has been in correspondence with stones lately ~ rocks found whilst walking near Craddock Moor mine and whilst seeking an elliptical Stone Circle near Rough Tor ~ Overlapping lithical territories found their way into her thoughts and drawings, an overlay of numerous other journeys and wanderings with rocks as lode stone ~ Rocks are used as a way to orientate, a recognisable weight to hold in the palm or rest your back against. In precarious, shifting times, stones seemed like a good place to settle ~ a steadying place to reflect on our deeply interconnected relationships with other beings.

Lanstefan Arts is a new experimental art space in the ancient town of Launceston, promoting connection through combined arts, talks and workshops.
