Still Life in Oils Workshops
Still Life in Oils painting course with artist Gill Burbidge over four consecutive Saturdays.
11am to 1pm over four consecutive Saturdays:

All materials and refreshments included, you are welcome to bring your own brushes.
Suitable for beginners and anyone seeking to develop or refresh their practice.
Explore the practice of learning to "see" and applying oil painting techniques in classical still life painting from direct observation.
-Using (water mixable) oil paints, learn the properties, and mixing, handling, and applying of the paints.
-Learn the skills of still life set up, observation, proportion, tone, and colour. Beginning with greyscale (tonal values) and simple still life setup, establish the foundations for seeing form, shadow and light.
-You will be encouraged to develop your skills with (basic) homework between sessions and to set up your own still life for the final project.
Devices we will use: shadow box, lighting, mirror, mobile phone, squinting, 'scaffolding'.
