Queer as Clay with Lauren McNicoll

A workshop for the FLINTA community, exploring the queer nature of clay through squishing, moulding, folding, connecting, and layering.

This workshop invites participants to engage with clay in an open, exploratory way—free from the expectation of producing a specific outcome. As a group, attendees will explore the queer nature of clay through actions such as squishing, moulding, folding, connecting, and layering the material.

The session primarily involves working with clay using hands, though participants are welcome to incorporate other parts of their body into the process if they feel comfortable. Observing without participating is also completely welcome.

Please note this workshop is only for people who identify as FLINTA (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender)
