PRINT AND COLOUR
Join us for a day of print and colour.
There will be a free block printing drop-in workshop, suitable for all ages, running in our learning studio all day, and our black box screening room will be transformed into an interactive play space where you can explore the surprising properties and history of colour.
If you would like to spend a little longer engaged in focussed making, book a session or two in advance: There will be free 'tri-chromatic print' sessions, during which Lucy Grant will guide you through the process of building up layers of monoprint to create a joyful overlay of colour. Sarah Fassnidge and Bridie Maddocks, who run the independent Clay Trap studio, will lead a beaker decorating workshop, including a throwing demo and the opportunity to create your own colourful design using different techniques, including stencils and sgraffito (£30 including glazing and firing of your beaker). And our newest studio holders, Kerry and Ruth from The Seaweed Institute, will be sharing the history and craft of seaweed pressing (£28 including a pressing to keep).
Artists' studios and CAST Café will also be open, so you can explore the whole building and meet the people who work here with delicious food and drink on hand.
All welcome, 10am to 4pm.
Full listings for each event can be found on CAST's website: https://castcornwall.art/
