Pollinator Sanctuary for Somerset Art Weeks Festival
As part of Somerset Art Weeks Festival 2022, Pollinator Sanctuary is a commissioned wild pollinator sculpture and shelter at Deer Leap Nature Reserve.
Pollinator Sanctuary is a commissioned sculpture at Deer Leap Nature Reserve, Mendips AONB. The installation collaborates with nature, including mycelium, wild pollinators, and plantlife toward care and repair for our natural world.
Open to the public 24/7 with an Open Day 25th Sept. 12-4pm
Open Day Activities:
Come meet the artist Kelly M O'Brien and be inspired to make your own take-home pollinator shelter
Butterfly talk with local expert Peter Bright
Pollinator illustration workshop with artist Marian Hill
Learn about how fungi and mycelium help Save the Bees and make your own fungi fruiting block
3pm Pollinator Parade! Come dressed as your favorite pollinator (bee, butterfly, hummingbird…anything you please!)
On-site signage with QR code to dedicated website with further educational materials, links, resources
Family-friendly. Children must be supervised by responsible adult.
