Overlapping Processes with Kitty Hillier and Rachael Jones

Kitty Hillier and Rachael Jones will offer an active reflection and consideration of their processes and how they align or overlap, encouraging participants to do the same. Excited about the different stages of making and how those can be shared among practitioners of diverse backgrounds and practices, activities will emphasise nonlinear circular thinking, collaboration and play, while offering participants the opportunity to dive into their own practices and reflect on what happens behind the scenes.

As a painter-sculptor and filmmaker-artist, Kitty and Rachael have noticed exciting overlaps when discussing their processes, for example, considering the viewfinder as a tool for slow looking, gathering and consolidating. This can be an opportunity for others to think about process and share their tools with others, finding a common ground and discovering new ideas that they can incorporate into their own practices.

Activities will include working together on a large piece of paper on the wall, mapping individual and collective stages of making, breath drawing to identify one shape that transforms into a viewfinder, with the final invitation to take it on a walk and observe through a different lens.

There is a small fee of £5 for non-members, just to cover costs as the event is funded through membership fees.

Cancellation

Tickets cancelled before more than 7 days before the event will be fully refunded.

Tickets cancelled within 7 days of the event will be partially refunded (50%) and tickets cancelled within 24 hours of the event will not be refunded.
