Opposite Banks
An exhibition of contemporary landscapes
Ann Chester King and Judith Cockram admire each other’s work and going on the same online course at St Ives School of Painting ( Abstracting the Landscape- a Sense of Place) last year made them decide to use their artwork as the basis of an exhibition. They found themselves working on opposite banks of the river Dart at Totnes. Judith chose Longmarsh
on the Totnes side and Ann an area of reed beds on the Sharpham side. These two geographically close but very different places enable the viewer to see how each artist has interpreted and undertaken the same course to produce two very different and distinct bodies of work.
