Visit an ‘open studio’ in the external courtyard of a dilapidated barn, to witness process at play and the things that get left from creating.

With a practice rooted in conversation, the internal gallery holds a series of object poems, that have been constructed from matter found around the farm. Developing a language of material that speaks to and of itself, these suggest a series of love letters, written to the buildings in which they inhabit.

In the old hay store—which has been reconstructed into a cinebarn—film works are on show that document those unseen acts of making [good] in both life and art.

Emma Housley explores the rich textual capabilities of her practice through a series of in-progress palimpsests. As an abstract painter she uses vibrant colours and textures built through many layers of dialogue. The in-progress pieces on show here, are explorations of the quiet and internal, through more muted tones.
