Now 50 years old, the Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum is run as a community museum for the benefit of Kingsbridge and the South Hams, its collections focusing on the social history of the town and the wider area with permanent, temporary and community exhibitions.
A popular feature of the six exhibitions held at Harbour House has been the 'then and now' displays, showing how much and, sometimes, how little has changed over the years.

Our rugged local coastline has been the scene of many shipwrecks over the centuries, from the Bronze Age to the present day, with stories of disaster, survival, seamanship, wreckers and rescuers to be explored in this exhibition, in collaboration with Salcombe Maritime Museum.
