Natural World
Hidden Gallery to host a collection of rare and original artworks on paper, by some of the most eminent artists of the 20th and 21st century.
From February 1st, Hidden Gallery, a contemporary gallery in Bath, England, will be hosting a selling exhibition of original prints and limited-edition sculptures by modern and contemporary household names. Featuring original artworks by Picasso, Matisse, Hockney, Chagall, Miro, Riley and many more, ‘Natural World’ will explore how these artists’ fascination with nature is linked to some of the most important artworks of the last century.
'Whether it’s Matisse’s beloved florals, Chagall’s enchanting animals or Hockney’s unrivalled landscapes, one thing is clear – exceptional artists do not simply replicate the natural world' said Amy Hampshire, senior manager of the gallery. 'Rather, they reimagine it, providing a compass with which the viewer can navigate and revel in the environment they inhabit.'
Highlights of 'Natural World' include a limited-edition, bronze sculpture by Emin depicting her beloved cat Docket, unique paintings by Pasmore and one of Riley's iconic, hand-signed monochrome screenprints. “We're delighted to share our brand new collection of rare and sought-after artworks,” said Hampshire. “We look forward to exhibiting 'Natural World' and hope that our visitors will enjoy the collection, perhaps even taking an artwork home with them.”
The artworks, which are available to buy, will be on display from February 1st until March 6th at Hidden Gallery, located in the heart of Bath at 14a Margaret’s Buildings. Hidden Gallery will also be hosting an opening party for 'Natural World' on February 1st, 6 - 8pm, complete with complimentary prosecco.
