Charley Williams is a queer photographer immersed in Bristol's dynamic drag scene. Her work switches between colourful, joyful documentary photography and painterly portraits taken behind the scenes. Through her work, she portrays drag performers not only as vibrant symbols of self-expression but also as integral parts of a larger network, much like the intricate web of mycelium beneath the forest floor.

MYCELIUM represents the unseen yet profound connections within the queer community. Just as mycelium nourishes and sustains the forest ecosystem, so too do the bonds of love, support, and understanding nourish and sustain the LGBTQ+ community. Through her photography, Charley exposes these invisible threads, illuminating the strength and beauty of collective solidarity.

Through capturing the resilience and authenticity of her subjects, she has embarked on her own journey of self-discovery and healing. Through creating this work over the past eight years, she has discovered her own queer identity, forged lifelong friendships and found her community.

Her work covers Drag Race stars, local legends Slaughterhaus, The House of Savalon, Femmegeddon, Brizzle Boyz, Bristol Pride and much more. Expect to see an explosion of colourful, queer joy through energetic show photos and captivating portraits as you journey through the history of Bristol drag.
